Installing a LAMP
 

I'm in the process of switching over from WinXP to Linux Mint 7 (derivative of Ubuntu)and I've been searching for a complete guide to installing a LAMP server.

While I can find several articles everyone seems to be slightly different in what packages are installed.

Does anyone have a link to a decent guide or is able to post a guide? As I don't want to have to reinstall the OS if I screw up the install.

On that page there are the steps you need to take to install LAMP and a link to the Ubuntu forums where you are told how to install XAMPP

sudo apt-get install lamp-server

Thanks for the replies :) I managed to find 2 online tutorials and I used bits from both.

Everything seems to be working OK!
