Default N00b Questions
Hi all,
I cant find anything on this so I will ask it here and hope not to be shot down lol.

Anyway I am looking to start my first ever tracker project and was wondering a couple of things...

My main question was hardware requirements. Obviously the larger the userbase the higher spec server i would need I get that, but can someone give me a guide as to user numbers to hardware spec ratio?
for example 5000 userbase would require the following spec server
50,000 would require...
or something like that anyway.

is 100mbit port speed enough? what would my expected monthly data usage be?
Do I need more than 1 server for larger userbase, how do I split things up?

The next thing is the required setup.
Do I need just u-232 or do I need a backened as well, im not sure if this includes something of its own. If I do need a backend as well, whats the best?

whats the best OS setup for this. 64bit CentOS6 + direct admin/cpanel?
I can do a little cmd line stuff with the use of tutorials so really would prefer to use a control panel.
What does everyone else do?

Thanks for all those who take the time to read this and thanks even more so to those who reply.
Obviously the more detail you can give me the better.
I know these are some really basic questions but everyone has to start somewhere so go easy :D

Thanks
