BitFarmer 20th February 2012 17:02

Vilnius Lithuania

AndrevUS 20th February 2012 21:37

@Black1 - where ACTA is valid ? i readed some news that it failed to be aproved.

I choose Canada :)

DAKz 20th February 2012 23:11

I choose.....

Canada used to be good but now with the issues there not so sure.

I choose france (Opps sorry optix) France since they not only hate the U.S. but hate our government worst.

Then I choose Russia or any of the former USSR republics since they want money so bad I believe they will do business rather then kiss Uncle Sam's ass.

x360zone 20th February 2012 23:29

many too choose from

funny thing is ive been hosted on usa for around 2 years lol then previous 3 years france then before that germany to be honest i dont really think it matters as much as people think bs is hosted usa and has been for 7 years or so come on folks dont eb shy where do you feel safest

DAKz 20th February 2012 23:37

its our egos

its our egos man, we all think we will be the next demonoid, or whatever that we will set the p2p world on its ear, so we want o be safe when we get that 1,000,000 user!! lol

Im not really sure but you can check the wikipedia and see the world map!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Co...rade_Agreement

Oh and actually I think that the country you host doent really matter unless you go really big!
I mean, If you have a torrent site with 10.000 users no antipiracy company/organisation will even mess with you
But if your tracker is big and a real pain in the ass for the organisation's then you will have to be carefull

rootKID 25th February 2012 00:12

no ideas...

to be honest, then i have no ideas really where to head at...

but i once was at somfthing called siteground.com, greate service tho, and still... its inside USA, i think... they was last time i checked ^^'...

in anyway, could recommend them and some few others,

but the best (where i feel safe), would be this site:

http://www.feralhosting.com/features

they are designed for hosting of torrent sites, and trust me when im saying they are big, they are big than bigger...

one of my friends have a torrent site with (almost) over 20.000 people on it, and same shit with torrents, but still... i said almost ;)....

besides,... he has been running it for over almost 3-5 year now, (dont remember the exact years..).

but a little warning if you should by yourself in there...
my friend tryed to install tbdev source in there.

and it was with a socked since they dont use localhost in there for some idiot reason, in anyway... it was keep telling my friend some errors that he could not fix... so he had to change service orr torrent source, so he chossed the source...

hope it helped :P...

Xolsurf3r 8th March 2012 20:31

Its Netherlands ! the best

nikosuk 8th March 2012 23:25

Dediserv

I have been going with Lunarpages ( USA ) . i soon started running away due to DMCA complaints.. that was for three months

Then i moved to the far EAST .. Malaysia and Shinjiru. Nice people, Friendly Staff, VERY TRACKER FRIENDLY hosting. Actually they only prohibit child pornography. Which is a good thing. Bad thing about them.. Too far from europe.
Big ping times ( 300 - 450 ms ) and slow loading with many intermittent nodes (and downtimes) . Other than that Very safe according to my experience.

For the last 2 years , i have been running with Dediserv. Its a polish company, with servers in the Netherlands and Germany. I have gone in the netherlands because of the FREEDOM of speech they represent. Fast hardware and infrastructure, good suppord, minimal downtimes.

I hope i have helped this thread a litle bit
:drink:

x360zone 9th March 2012 10:16

true

i was with them but pricey key thing is to have more than one location for example mine in canada and i have back up usa either way if it goes tits up im setup with a couple of hours
paranoid hosting at its best lol:coffee:

TomasHR 9th March 2012 13:30

more little and free

Croatia, 1 year, 1 GB, unlimitid traffic for 30€.

LeeHowarth 9th March 2012 13:34

It doesnt really matter where you host your tracker, its only when your as big as the likes of demonoid that you need to worry, yes there will be hosts that don't allow trackers and thats understandable however there is alot of places they simply dont care, they will never close the pirate bay down entirely so that goes to show how much a website can be a big influence on the internet

Marco 11th March 2012 15:56

trackers :)

hmmm good question :) depending on many facts.
I believe Russia is the first place , but maybe not too fast connections.
About connections, speed, ping at any else, europe number one is Netherland ! and second is France .

Acta was rejected , but i believe it will never really end. maybe will have another name, but they will do everything to stop trackers.

best regards
Marco

Later edit.. maybe those who found russian hostings with english support will share with us :)

LeeHowarth 11th March 2012 16:01

Yep i agree russia is good i recommend hostkey as they have a english department which is helpfull

DAKz 11th March 2012 16:18

Plenty....

I deal with several companies that deal in boxes in Russia, not real hard to find at all. And right now they seem like the place to go, and for money they will speak great english.

Black1 11th March 2012 16:19

Again..

Generally.. Stay away from USA Germany France
Choose a torrent friendly hosting company

I personaly prefer Netherlands

x360zone 11th March 2012 16:58

i have a few servers in russia and run well

i have a few servers in russia and run well#
vps runs from £4.50 hosted zlin with english support
i also host canada, germany, uk, and states have been in france and all well there also

was hosted a shinji at a while but far to exspensive for the shit you need
and coming to a crunch soon i reckong will be france due to ovh flooding the network with seedboxes/trackers just my opinion though

DAKz 11th March 2012 17:09

France?

France is fairly safe, after all they hate American's and they hate the government worst. Best bet, get a domain from a foreign registrar so they can't be so fast to seize the domain host it in a country that thinks fbi stands for female body inspector and torrent all you can, the end is in site my friends.

DAKz 23rd March 2012 06:12

a place.....

I know a tracker that's hosted in the U.S. for a year now, and has over 75k users, I also know the headaches that go with that. Simply put he could lose it all in one phone call from anyone he has ever pissed off.
Now he pays for this. And I mean huge!! About 3 times what anyone would get for the same server setup. He has a 1gb pipe and all that but still to me the idea of losing it all in a instant would bother me.
Would be bad enough to lose a couple hundred users on a site but to lose that many...Wow.
Sadly he is getting big enough now to start to get some unwelcomed attention, and I have advised him to start thinking about moving it all to another conuntry and even manage to save some money on the process...but owners....you know how they are.

x360zone 23rd March 2012 09:50

good tip

attention

Attention

1 reason you should back up regular

and if your so important im sure they will get you lol

:fire:

DAKz 23rd March 2012 10:52

Its all about the money

Think they are better at it then we are...
They will let any tracker start knowing that 99% of them will simply fail.
To them there has to be a cutoff for ignoring them, once a site gets to a certain number of users or torrents or something then they look at it.
Besides backing up your site and your db all the time make sure your not infested with google bots.
Tell you how strange its getting, recently had a customer turned down at a couple registrars for trying to register a domain with the word "Pirate" in the name.

RePliCanT 3rd April 2012 17:23

I feel safe at Switzerland, currently working with Private Layer INC!

d6bmg 2nd May 2012 18:47

Canada is still good, if not the best.
Although condition have detoriated in past few months.

spithas 7th June 2012 05:28

Holland still very good for hosting. I have a tracker on a server for 3 years there. No problem never.

cherwonk 1st September 2012 19:07

Doesnt matter where you host it, matters where your from. Server could be offshore , but IP will be assigned to where you live, unless you go through a reseller ...but then someone else has axx to your server.
